OUR MISSION
Our Mission is to assist troubled and at risk youth "stay in school, return to the classroom, seek higher educational goals."
Through an ongoing bipartisan coalition of volunteers the Sprial Educational Foundation provides:
Annual Scholarships: Assist deserving youth to attain higher educaltional goals
Specialized Awareness Training: Reinforce family, school and personal responsibility of students
ACCOMPLISHMENTS
A great man once said “you can’t tell a story without facts --- and you can’t tell half of a story. You have to tell it all to get the true picture!” Our story reflects our community impact.
· SEF placed thirty-two (32) computers in the homes of students where there were none
· As community partners we co-sponsored four (4) Teen Abstinence Focus Groups that brought together teens and parents in educational awareness and training sessions
· Provided research and scholarship packaging to twenty -five (25) college bond students
· Sponsored senior wellness workshops, after school grandparent tutoring program, craft classes and wreath making workshops throughout the year.
· As community outreach partners we delivered Thanksgiving Food Baskets to disabled elderly seniors
· During the first quater of the year SEF hosted its Annual Awards Luncheon and celebrated its 16th year anniversary. In a special message from the Board of Directors it was proudly noted volunteers have raised $95,352.00 on behalf of education

Marcus J. Finnell- A graduate of Birdsville High School, currently enrolled at Tarrant County College where he is majoring in General Education. He is a youth coordinator with the Spiral Educational Foundation, and serves as a tutor with the After School Program.
Atsu Atakpa –Senior at Paul Quinn College, Dallas TX. His home land is Cape Coast, Ghana, West Africa. He is a Computer Science major; upon graduation he will become a System Analyst/Computer Network Administrator in Corporate America.
Celia N. Soto - A freshman at Paul Quinn College, 19 years old and a native of Chihuahua, Mexico; pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Legal Studies. Her involvement and hard work has been noted and recorded in the Wall Street Journal, The Dallas Morning News, The Dallas Tribune.
Earnest C. Shinault, Jr. - A 19 year old sophomore, majoring in Health and Wellness. He is a member of the Men’s Junior Varsity Basketball Team and is an avid volunteer on campus and in his community. For the past 3 years, he has spent his summer breaks at a youth summer camp where he tutors students to enhance their reading and math skills.
